This Tiramisu Latte is a decadent, coffee-based drink that combines the rich flavors of espresso, creamy mascarpone mousse, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Inspired by the classic Italian dessert, it offers a comforting and indulgent coffee experience perfect for a cozy moment or dessert treat.

Ingredients

For the Coffee Base

  • 60 ml double espresso (strong)
  • 125 ml milk

For the Mascarpone Mousse

  • 40 g cold mascarpone cheese
  • 60 ml cold, full-fat liquid cream
  • 1 tablespoon icing sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid vanilla extract

For Garnish

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mascarpone Mousse: In a small bowl, whisk together the cold mascarpone, cold liquid cream, icing sugar, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer until the mixture thickens into a smooth and creamy mousse.
  2. Heat the Milk: Warm the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer gently, or heat it in the microwave until hot but not boiling.
  3. Brew the Espresso: Prepare a strong double espresso using a coffee machine or ground coffee as per your preferred method.
  4. Combine Coffee and Milk: Pour the hot milk into a large cup, then carefully add the freshly brewed double espresso.
  5. Top with Mascarpone Mousse: Spoon the prepared mascarpone mousse gently over the top of the coffee and milk mixture, creating a creamy layer.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle unsweetened cocoa powder over the mascarpone mousse, then serve immediately while the latte is still hot and enjoy.

Notes

  • Using cold mascarpone and cream helps achieve a nice thick mousse texture.
  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use a robust espresso blend.
  • You can substitute whole milk with any preferred milk alternative, but results may vary.
  • Adjust the icing sugar to taste if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet drink.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast between hot coffee and cold creamy topping.
