A quick and flavorful Thai Peanut Beef recipe featuring thinly sliced flank or skirt steak cooked in a creamy, spicy peanut sauce. Ready in just 20 minutes, this dish combines savory soy, rich peanut butter, and a hint of Sriracha for a perfect balance of heat and sweetness, garnished with crunchy chopped peanuts and fresh herbs for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Beef

  • 1 pound Flank or Skirt Steak, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 2-3 teaspoons oil

Sauce

  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha hot sauce
  • 3-4 tablespoons water, to thin (if needed)

Toppings (Optional)

  • ¼ cup peanuts, chopped
  • Sliced green onions or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: Whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, and Sriracha hot sauce in a bowl, excluding the peanuts. Add water one tablespoon at a time until the sauce becomes smooth and pourable.
  2. Cook the Beef: Heat oil in a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add the thinly sliced beef strips and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly to ensure even cooking and browning around the edges.
  3. Combine Beef and Sauce: Once the beef reaches your desired doneness, pour half of the prepared peanut sauce into the pan. Stir to coat the beef and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to meld the flavors.
  4. Serve: Transfer the beef to serving plates. Drizzle the remaining peanut sauce on top and sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Garnish with sliced green onions or cilantro as desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of Sriracha or add fresh chili flakes.
  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smoother sauce; chunky peanut butter can alter the texture.
  • Serve over steamed jasmine rice or rice noodles for a complete meal.
  • Thinly slicing the beef against the grain ensures tenderness.
  • The recipe is quick and ideal for weeknight dinners.
