This quick and easy No Yeast Pizza Dough recipe allows you to make homemade pizza without the wait or hassle of yeast. Ready in just 20 minutes, this dough is soft, elastic, and perfect for creating a crispy crust with your favorite toppings. Ideal for a fast pizza night with a deliciously puffy edge and a crisp base.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups bread flour (or plain/all-purpose flour)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp sugar

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 tsp olive oil (or any other oil)
  • 1/2 cup cold tap water

Additional

  • 1 tbsp extra flour (for dusting)
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil (optional, for brushing crust; can use canola or other neutral oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 250°C (480°F) or 230°C (fan) and place the oven shelf in the top quarter to ensure a well-cooked base and crispy crust.
  2. Prepare Pan: Lightly spray a pizza pan or baking tray with oil to prevent sticking during baking.
  3. Prepare Sauce and Toppings: Ready your pizza sauce and desired toppings, keeping shredded mozzarella chilled until ready to use for best melting results.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a food processor fitted with a standard S blade, add bread flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Pulse twice to combine thoroughly.
  5. Add Wet Ingredients and Process: Add cold water and olive oil to the dry mixture. Blitz on low speed for about 40 seconds until the dough forms a shaggy ball.
  6. Knead Dough by Hand: Sprinkle your work surface with half the extra flour and scrape the dough out of the processor. Sprinkle remaining extra flour on top, then knead for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth and elastic but not sticky.
  7. Shape and Roll Out: Form the dough into a smooth ball and roll it out into a 30cm (12 inch) round on a floured surface.
  8. Transfer to Pan: Move the rolled dough onto your prepared pizza pan or baking tray (preferably with holes for a crispier base). Use your fingers to gently stretch the dough from the center to cover the pan, leaving the edges loose to help create a puffy crust.
  9. Add Toppings: Spread 1/4 cup of pizza sauce evenly over the base, then add your selected toppings. Keep the crust edges free of toppings to allow better browning and rising.
  10. Brush Crust: Lightly brush the exposed crust edge with vegetable oil or another neutral oil to enhance crispness and color.
  11. Bake: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12 minutes or until the crust is golden and crisp.
  12. Serve: Remove from oven, slice, and serve immediately to enjoy your homemade no yeast pizza.

Notes

  • You can use bread flour for more chewiness or all-purpose flour as a substitute.
  • Keep shredded mozzarella in the fridge until ready to use for best melting texture.
  • Brushing the crust edge with oil helps achieve a golden, crisp crust.
  • Using a pizza pan with holes or a pizza stone helps create a crispier base.
  • The dough will not be as smooth and elastic as yeast dough, but it should be soft and manageable.
