This Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme recipe is a delicious Taco Bell copycat that combines seasoned ground beef, crispy tostadas, melted American cheese, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream wrapped in a warm, toasted flour tortilla. Perfectly crispy and flavorful, this easy-to-make meal is ready in just 30 minutes and serves 4 people.

Ingredients

For the Crunchwrap Filling

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • ¼ cup Salsa (of choice)
  • 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning

For Assembly

  • 4 Extra Large Flour Tortillas (12")
  • 4 Tostadas (Crispy Corn Tortillas)
  • 8 Slices American Cheese
  • 1 cup Iceberg Lettuce (shredded)
  • ½ cup Tomatoes (diced)
  • ¼ cup Sour Cream
  • Hot Sauce (optional)
  • Sour Cream & Salsa (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook 1 lb of ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat to keep the meat from being greasy. Return the beef to the pan, stir in ¼ cup salsa and 2 tablespoons taco seasoning, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Assemble the Crunchwraps: Lay out the four extra-large flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Divide the ground beef evenly, placing a quarter of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla. Top the beef with two slices of American cheese, then place a tostada on top to add a satisfying crunch. Spread 1 tablespoon of sour cream over each tostada, followed by 2 tablespoons of freshly diced tomatoes and a ¼ cup of shredded iceberg lettuce.
  3. Fold the Crunchwraps: Carefully fold the edges of each flour tortilla upward and inward over the filling, forming a sealed hexagon shape. Make sure to overlap the folds tightly to keep the fillings secured inside during cooking.
  4. Cook the Crunchwraps: Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Place one assembled crunchwrap, folded side down, into the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, watching carefully to avoid burning. Flip the crunchwrap and cook the other side for 3-4 minutes or until crispy and heated through.
  5. Serve: Remove the crunchwraps from the pan and slice each in half. Serve with additional sour cream and salsa on the side, and add hot sauce if desired for an extra kick.

Notes

  • To keep the crunchwraps sealed while cooking, ensure the folds are overlapped tightly.
  • If you cannot find tostadas, substitute with crispy corn tortillas baked until crunchy.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace ground beef with seasoned plant-based meat or cooked beans.
  • Use low-fat sour cream or Greek yogurt to reduce fat content.
  • Serve immediately for optimal crispiness.
