These Homemade Big Mac Sliders are a delicious and fun twist on the classic fast-food favorite, perfect for gatherings or a family meal. Made with seasoned ground beef, melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, pickles, and a tangy special sauce, all sandwiched between soft Hawaiian rolls, these sliders capture the iconic Big Mac flavor in a convenient, slider-sized portion.

Ingredients

Beef and Seasoning

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Buns and Toppings

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 5 oz shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp pickled relish
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper. Stir and break up the meat as it cooks until fully browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Buns: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the connected Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them attached. Place the bottom halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and set the top halves aside for later.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Layer the cooked ground beef evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Top the meat with slices of American cheese and then sprinkle diced white onions over the cheese.
  4. Bake the Sliders: Replace the tops of the slider rolls. Brush the tops generously with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and slightly toasted.
  5. Make the Special Sauce: While the sliders bake, mix together mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, pickled relish, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl until well combined.
  6. Finish the Sliders: Remove the sliders from the oven and carefully lift off the tops. Layer shredded iceberg lettuce over the cheese and beef, then drizzle the prepared special sauce evenly over the lettuce. Place two dill pickle slices on each slider, then replace the slider tops.
  7. Serve: Slice the connected sliders apart and serve warm for a tasty, crowd-pleasing meal.

Notes

  • For juicier sliders, you can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef while cooking.
  • If you prefer a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few drops of hot sauce to the special sauce mixture.
  • Using Hawaiian rolls adds sweetness and softness that mimics restaurant-style sliders.
  • Feel free to prepare the special sauce ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • To make these sliders gluten-free, substitute rolls with gluten-free slider buns.
