This Frozen Caramel Toffee Ice Cream Sandwich Dessert is a delightful no-bake treat featuring layers of classic ice cream sandwiches, creamy Cool Whip, and rich caramel and chocolate sauces, topped with crunchy toffee bits and chopped candy bars. Perfect for a quick and impressive frozen dessert that combines creamy, crunchy, and sweet flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Basic Ingredients

  • 1 deep-dish rectangular, throw-away foil pan (9×13 inches)
  • 24 store-bought frozen ice cream sandwiches
  • Two 8-ounce tubs Cool Whip, defrosted

Toppings and Sauces

  • Caramel sauce (as needed for drizzling)
  • Chocolate sauce (as needed for drizzling)
  • 1 bag of Heath bits or toffee bits
  • 4 regular-sized Heath or Skor candy bars, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Spray the deep-dish foil pan thoroughly with cooking spray to prevent sticking and make removal easier later.
  2. First Layer of Ice Cream Sandwiches: Arrange 12 ice cream sandwiches side-by-side evenly across the bottom of the pan, creating a solid base layer.
  3. Add Cool Whip and Toppings: Spread one 8-ounce tub of defrosted Cool Whip evenly over the ice cream sandwiches. Drizzle caramel and chocolate sauces generously over the Cool Whip layer, then sprinkle a good amount of toffee bits on top. Place the pan in the freezer for about one hour to set this layer.
  4. Second Layer of Ice Cream Sandwiches: After the first layer is set, place another 12 ice cream sandwiches side-by-side on top of the toffee bits, covering the first layer completely.
  5. Top with More Cool Whip and Candy: Spread the second tub of Cool Whip evenly over the second layer of ice cream sandwiches. Drizzle caramel and chocolate sauces again over the top. Then sprinkle the chopped Heath or Skor candy bars scattered evenly across the surface.
  6. Freeze Until Firm: Return the dessert to the freezer and chill for several hours or until the entire dessert is firm and well frozen.
  7. Serving: When ready to serve, remove the dessert from the freezer. Use a sharp knife to cut into squares. Optionally, drizzle additional caramel and chocolate sauce onto the individual servings for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • Make sure the Cool Whip is fully defrosted before spreading to ensure even application.
  • Using a sharp knife dipped in hot water will help make cleaner cuts through the frozen dessert.
  • You can substitute toffee bits with your favorite crunchy candy pieces if preferred.
  • This dessert should be stored in the freezer and served cold to maintain texture.
  • Allow the dessert to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving if it's too hard to cut.
