These Everything Bagel Chicken Strips are crispy, flavorful chicken tenders coated with a crunchy panko and everything bagel seasoning crust. Baked to golden perfection, they make a delicious and easy meal or snack that's perfect for dipping and sharing.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1½ to 2 lbs raw chicken tenders

Breading Mixture

  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Finishing

  • Olive oil spray or drizzle

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, everything bagel seasoning, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  2. Whisk eggs: In a separate small bowl, whisk the egg together with 1 tablespoon of water until frothy and well blended.
  3. Dip chicken: Take each chicken tender and dip it first into the egg wash, making sure it’s fully coated. Then transfer the tender into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently with a fork or fingers to firmly adhere the coating on all sides.
  4. Place on sheet pan: Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Lightly spray or drizzle olive oil over the strips to help achieve a golden, crispy crust during baking.
  5. Bake chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the chicken strips for 12 to 15 minutes until the coating is golden brown and the chicken is cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce for a tasty appetizer or main dish.

Notes

  • You can use chicken breast tenders or slice chicken breasts into strips if you don’t have pre-cut tenders.
  • Everything bagel seasoning may vary by brand—feel free to use your preferred blend or make your own with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion, and garlic flakes.
  • For extra crispy strips, consider broiling for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking while watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • Make sure to not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
