This creamy and naturally sweet Banana Milkshake recipe is perfect for a quick and nutritious drink. Made with ripe bananas, nuts or ice cream, and a hint of cinnamon or cardamom, it's an easy blend of wholesome ingredients guaranteed to refresh and satisfy.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe Bananas
  • 2 to 4 Dates (or sugar or maple syrup to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (or ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1½ cups pasteurized chilled milk (or water or raw milk as per notes)
  • 24 cashews or blanched almonds (or 2 tablespoons nut butter or 6 scoops ice cream)

Instructions

  1. Prepare bananas and nuts: For a chilled milkshake, freeze the sliced bananas for 1 hour. If using nuts and you don't have a high-speed blender, soak them for 1 hour to soften.
  2. Blend ingredients: Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender jar—bananas, nuts or ice cream, dates or sweetener, cinnamon or cardamom, vanilla extract, and milk. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency by adding more milk or water as needed and blend again.
  3. Serve immediately: Pour the banana milkshake into serving glasses and enjoy right away. Optionally, top with your favorite toppings like nuts or cinnamon.
  4. Optional ice cream version: For a richer shake, blend 2 large bananas with 6 scoops of ice cream and ½ cup milk until smooth and frothy. Add more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency and blend again.

Notes

  • For a colder milkshake, freeze bananas before blending.
  • If using raw milk, ensure it is fresh and safe for consumption.
  • Soaking nuts softens them for easier blending and better texture.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding dates, sugar, or maple syrup according to taste.
  • Vanilla extract is optional but enhances flavor.
  • You can substitute nuts with nut butter for convenience.
