Classic No-Bake Cookies are a quick and easy treat combining creamy peanut butter, cocoa, sugar, and oats for a fudgy, chewy texture without the need for an oven. Perfect for a sweet snack or dessert that sets up in under an hour.

Ingredients

Wet and Cocoa Mixture

  • 1/2 cup (115 grams) butter, sliced into pieces
  • 2 cups (400 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (20 grams) unsweetened cocoa powder

Mix-ins

  • 1/2 cup (125 grams) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (300 grams) quick-cooking oats

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Gather all ingredients and measure them accurately. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and set them aside.
  2. Cook Mixture: In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder. Stir frequently until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth. Bring it to a rolling boil, then continue boiling for exactly 60 seconds, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Remove the saucepan from heat. Immediately stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Then add the quick-cooking oats, stirring until all oats are evenly coated with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Form Cookies: Using a spoon or a 1.5 tablespoon cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets. Space them slightly apart to allow spreading.
  5. Cool and Set: Allow the cookies to cool and set at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes until firm. Serve and enjoy your delicious no-bake cookies!

Notes

  • Use quick-cooking oats for the best texture and ease of mixing.
  • Ensure the boiling time is precise to help the cookies set properly.
  • You can substitute creamy peanut butter with natural peanut butter if preferred, but it may alter texture.
  • If you like a richer chocolate flavor, increase cocoa powder to 1/3 cup.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
